Adilabad: Authorities in Jainoor mandal suspended a government teacher on Thursday after he allegedly attended school in an inebriated state and neglected his duties.

The incident occurred at the Ashram High School (AHS) in Sukuthpalli village under the Asifabad district.

Came drunk and slept during school hours

Residents of Sukuthpalli complained that J Vilas, serving as a Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT), had come to class intoxicated and slept during school hours.

Based on the findings and directions from the Project Officer, suspension orders were issued against Vilas for dereliction of duty and violation of service norms.

Surprise inspections coming

Officials emphasised that negligence, absenteeism without permission, or violation of discipline would not be tolerated.
