Telangana officer stole Rs 65 lakh funds meant to provide milk to tribal children

By Newsmeter Network Published on 29 Feb 2024 12:20 PM GMTHyderabad: Anishetty Sridevi, former CDPO, ICDS project, Jainoor, Adilabad district, currently working as the director of Women Development and Child Welfare in Hyderabad was arrested and a case of criminal misconduct was registered against AO.
As per records, earlier, during her tenure as the child development project officer at the ICDS Project in Jainoor, Adilabad district from 2015 to 2016, she performed her public duty dishonestly and improperly and misappropriated government funds for an amount of Rs 65,78,467 (more than Rs 65 lakhs) about milk intended for the distribution to innocent tribal children. Thereby, it was noted that the accused officer allegedly abused her official position, by corrupt and illegal means, obtained pecuniary gain and undue advantage, and caused loss to the government exchequer by creating a false statement for incurring expenses under the āArogyalaxmi milk supplyā to the 322 Anganwadi centres.
As part of the investigation on Thursday at 2 pm, the AO was arrested and produced before the Prl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Karimnagar. The case is under investigation
