Telangana polls: How police foiled plan to carry out bogus voting in Hyderabad
Police said the accused had identified a shutter under the premises of a religious place to conduct their activities.

Habeebnagar Police with the assistance of the DCP Task Force, and teams of South West zone apprehended the accused.
They have been identified as Mohd Zakir, 40 of Nampally; Mohd Shabuddin 28, of Nampally Market; and Ritesh Gupta, of Vijay Nagar Colony
The accused were found removing indelible ink marks from voters who had already cast their votes with the help of an unknown chemical. They have been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the RP Act.
Police have recovered duplicate voter ID cards, chemical bottles, voter lists, used & unused cotton, a mini slip printing machine, and other items.
Police said the accused had planned to carry out bogus voting at polling station number 123 located in Government High School, Telugu Medium, Nampally. They had purchased materials to remove indelible ink marks from voters.
Police said the accused had identified a shutter under the premises of a religious place to conduct their activities. They identified absent voters and those who had passed away or shifted to other locations.
The accused had identified persons who had vacated their homes. They had used their voter ID numbers to print out information slips and had planned to conduct bogus voting with the help of outsiders
Police have taken strict action to ensure that the elections are conducted without fraudulent activities.
