Hyderabad: A 22-year-old thief was killed when he slipped from the fourth floor of the building while trying to escape after a failed break-in attempt at Venkatagiri.

Identified as Sayyad Chand Pasha, he jumped from a building in an attempt to escape when inmates raised an alarm. He received severe injuries and was rushed to the Osmania Hospital where he succumbed.

Police said Chand Pasha was trying to break into the fourth floor of an apartment at Venkatagiri. However, inmates noticed some suspicious activity and raised an alarm.

Fearing that he would be caught, Chand Pasha jumped from the building. He landed on the ground and suffered severe injuries.

Alerted by the residents, police rushed to the spot and found him in a pool of blood. They rushed him to the Osmania hospital where he succumbed.

Police said that Chand Pasha is an old offender and was earlier involved in a robbery and a theft case. A case has been registered and investigation is underway, police said.
