Hyderabad: The sleuth's of the commissioner's task force and the Bowenpally police, on 11 January, arrested three more persons in connection with the Akhila Priya kidnapping case.

On 6 January, former TDP minister Akhila Priya, her husband Bhargava Ram, and A.V Subba Reddy were booked for kidnapping three brothers- Praveen, Naveen, and Sunil Rao - from Hyderabad over land dispute in Hafeezpet.

The three persons who were arrested on Monday have been identified as Boya Sampath Kumar (22) from Kurnool, Nagaradoddi Mallikarjuna Reddy (32) from Ananthapur, and Dorllu Balachennaiah (30) from Kadapa. The police seized three mobile phones, fake number plates, and a two-wheeler from them.

One of the accused, Mallikarjuna Reddy, was a personal assistant to the former TDP minister. On her instructions, he had bought six SIM cards and six new mobile phones on 2 and 3 January. Of the six SIM cards, one (7095637583) was given to Akhila Priya and two to Guntur Srinu.

Another accused, Boya Sampath Kumar, who had been working as a personal assistant to Akhila Priya for three years, confessed that he had also participated in the kidnapping. He said he had recced the victim's residence.

During the investigation, the police found that the accused persons had taken rooms at Pradha Grand hotel in Kukatpally.

Establishing connections to Akhila Priya

The police established that Akhila Priya had planned and executed the crime along with Bhargava Ram, Guntur Srinu, and other accomplices in order to grab the land and extort money from the victims. On the day of the kidnapping, i.e. 5 January, Akhila Priya, while travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad, continued to communicate with the accused persons from her residence at Lodha Bellezza till the morning hours of 6 January. The police also proved that she regularly used her regular mobile number and her temporary mobile number to communicate with the accused persons.

According to the police, on 5 January, the accused persons started from Lodha Bellezza apartment in Kukatpally for MGM School in Yousufguda. They gathered there along with five four-wheeler vehicles. They had removed the original number plates of the vehicles and used fake number plates. Guntur Srinu and Bhargava Ram were continuously receiving instructions from Akhila Priya, the police found.

Gunturu Srinu used his temporary number to call Akhila Priya on her regular mobile number. Later, using the same number, the kidnappers made the victim call DCP north zone. Efforts are being continued to apprehend the absconding persons who were involved in this case, the police said.
