Town planning officer of Nizampet Municipal Corporation caught taking bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh

Telangana: Anti-Corruption Bureau has apprehended M Srinivasa Rao, a Town Planning Officer at Nizampet Municipal Corporation, Medchal - Malkajgiri district, for demanding a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh through a private person.

The accused officer M Srinivasa Rao demanded bribe for doing official favour of "Not dismantling the Tea Point container and also not to remove the advertisement board of "Chennapatnam Cheeralu" shop, erected in the building premises of the complainant.

On Monday, Srinivasa Rao was caught when he was accepting bribe amount through a private person Ramulu (A2), from the complainant Gottipati Srinivasulu Naidu in Hyderabad.

The total money was recovered from the possession of the A2. Right hand fingers of A2 yielded positive result in chemical test.

Srinivasulu who performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage was arrested and produced before the Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.

The case is under investigation
