Trading fraud to digital arrest: Cyberabad Cybercrime Police arrest 45, refunds Rs 99L to victims

Hyderabad: Intensifying crackdown on online fraudsters, Cyberabad Cybercrime Police have arrested 45 people in connection with 25 cases in July so far.

Rs 99 L refunded to victims

In a significant relief for victims, police processed and secured 153 refund orders in 40 cases during the same period, resulting in a total refund of Rs 99.1 lakh.

Pan-India network of offenders

Investigations revealed that the arrested accused were part of widespread cybercriminal networks operating across different states in the country.

A variety of cyber frauds

Of the 45 arrested fraudsters, 17 were involved in trading fraud. The remaining accused were linked to scams such as digital arrest frauds, part-time job frauds, fake advertisements, call centre frauds, customer care service frauds, matrimony scams, and business frauds.

Cybercrime reporting

Police urged citizens to remain vigilant and report cyber frauds immediately by dialling 1930 or visiting the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal at www.cybercrime.gov.in.
