TV artist's flat burgled in Hyderabad's Srinagar colony ; gold & diamond ornaments missing

Police suspected that they might be 1-2 persons involved in the burglary

Hyderabad: Unknown persons robbed gold and diamond ornaments from a flat of renowned TV artist, Sumitra Pampana located in Srinagar Colony in Hyderabad. The incident happened on April 18, Tuesday, while she was away in Delhi.

The burglars snatched away gold and diamond ornaments weighing around 1.2 kilograms (kg) and silver ornaments weighing 293 gms.

Police suspected that they might be 1-2 persons involved in the burglary.

According to the Panjagutta police, Sumitra had locked her flat and handed over the keys to her sister-in-law, who lived in the same apartment complex.

On Tuesday, Sumitra's sister-in-law found that the main door latch of the flat was broken. She immediately informed Sumitra's brother, Vijay Kumar, who took photographs and videographs of the entire crime scene.

When Sumitra returned to Hyderabad on Wednesday, she found that all her gold and diamond ornaments, along with some of her nephew's gold ornaments that were kept in an almirah locker went missing.

A case has been registered under sections 457 and 380 and launched an investigation into the incident.
