Two electricians killed as third-floor balcony slab collapses in Panjagutta, building owner critical

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, two electricians lost their lives after a balcony slab collapsed in Panjagutta on Sunday, while a third person sustained serious injuries.
Victims fell from third floor
According to police, the victims have been identified as Devidas (56), a resident of Sitarambagh and his son-in-law Vivek (32).
Both were working as electricians. They had been called to carry out repair work at an apartment in Kundan Bagh, under the Panjagutta police station limits.
The apartment owner, Dwaraka Prasad, had reportedly invited them to his residence in Srivatsa Apartments located in Methodist Colony.
Slab collapses during inspection
The incident occurred when the two electricians, along with the apartment owner, went up to the third floor to assess the work. While discussing the repairs, the balcony slab suddenly gave way, causing all three to fall from a height.
Devidas and Vivek died on the spot due to severe injuries. Dwaraka Prasad suffered serious injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police launch investigation
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victims’ family members.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.
