Two police officials caught by ACB: Bribe of Rs 15,000 demanded

Hyderabad: A criminal misconduct case is registered against sub-inspector of police D Sai Kumar and police constable Naresh of Begumpet police station for demanding a bribe amount of Rs 15,000.

The complainant Karmpet Raghavender registered a case with the Anti-Corruption Bureau as the amount was demanded for release of his bike.

The constable demanded Rs 3000 for himself and instructed that Rs 5,000 amount must also be paid immediately. After taking Rs 5,000 as bribe an additional Rs 1,000 was also extracted from him on February 3rd, 2023 stated the complainant.

The complainant and the police constable Naresh were in constant touch with each other. The bribe amount was fixed at Rs 15,000 and after constant communication it was reduced to Rs 12,000.

With Raghavender not able to pay the money, the police officials were harassing him and he could not take it anymore. Raghavender approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau with audio and video evidence against them.

The case is now under investigation.
