Hyderabad: In two separate incidents, two distressing events unfolded in Nacharam and Raydurgam police station limits on Friday.

Mother & daughter die by suicide in Manikonda

A 40-year-old mother and her 14-year-old daughter died by suicide at their residence in Manikonda on Friday wee hours.

According to the Raydurgam police, the mother and daughter struggled with mental health issues and have been confined to home since the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday evening, the woman asked her husband to visit the Yadagiri Gutta temple and also provided him with Rs 5000 for personal expenses.

Before taking the extreme step, the woman wrote--'do something that makes you happy' and 'the game has started' with henna on their hands.

They also set fire to their old clothes in one corner of the house. Noticing that, the woman's 11-year-old son questioned his mother and sister about their unusual behaviour. They asked him to stay away from them.

In the early hours of Friday, both their deaths were witnessed by his 11-year-old son, who immediately contacted dial 100 and informed the police.

Further investigation revealed that a few days before the incident, the mother and daughter left the house without informing her husband and travelled to Tirupati with Lasya. At one point, the woman expressed her intention for the entire family to die.

The Raydurgam police have registered a case and are currently conducting an investigation.

Techie dies on FB live

In another tragic death, a software techie died by suicide in Nacharam. The 29-year-old IT employee who is a mother of a three-year-old child made a Facebook live while taking the extreme step.

According to the complaint filed by the deceased mother at Nacharam Police Station, her daughter married her schoolmate Hemanth five years ago. However, after the marriage, she faced harassment from her in-laws and her husband, who had an extra-marital affair.

Hemanth, who worked as a DJ lost his job, and left to middle-east six months ago. While the wife and husband maintained regular communication, Hemanth gradually cut off contact with his wife over the past two months.

On Wednesday, the woman received a call from her husband, who verbally abused her. Unable to bear the trauma, she took an extreme step.

Upon learning of the distressing situation, her mother rushed to her daughter's residence, where she was found hanged to death. The family member took her to the hospital, but she was declared dead.

Nacharam Police registered a case under Sections 498(A) (husband or relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
