Ugandan woman running prostitution racket in Meerpet detained under PD Act

The 32-year-old Namubiru Siana was sent to the special prison for women, Chenchalguda. She was involved in international human trafficking and online prostitution racket in the limits of Meerpet police station, the police said.
Siana came to India on a visitor Visa but stayed back even after her visa expired. She came to Hyderabad three months ago and rented a flat in Nizam Colony, Tolichowki. She started an online prostitution racket in the city. She used to upload photos of girls and their phone numbers in Locanto dating app.
Acting on a tip-off, the anti-human trafficking team of Rachakonda along with the Meerpet police laid a trap and arrested Namubiru Siana on 29 July 2021. They rescued one Ugandan woman and sent her to a rescue home for counseling. Meanwhile, Siana was remanded to judicial custody.
Mahesh M. Bhagwat, the commissioner of police of Rachakonda, invoked the PD Act against her and detained her on Monday.
