UP native held for bid to sell illegal pistols in Hyderabad; 10 ammo rounds seized

Hyderabad: A person was arrested for allegedly possessing country-made pistols and ammunition illegally.
The sleuths of the Special Operations Team (SOT), Bhongiri Zone, Rachakonda Commissionerate identified the person as Harekrishna Yadav (26), a native of Rampur Boha, Uttar Pradesh.
The police seized two pistols, one tapancha, and 10 live rounds from his possession.
Case details
According to police records, Harekrishna Yadav is a resident of Ballia (Dist), Uttar Pradesh, where he studied up to Intermediate. In 2019, he along with his brother Murali came to Hyderabad and worked in a company at Bibinagar. In 2022, he left the job and went back to his native village and started farming.
Harekrishnaās village borders Bihar from where he came in contact with people making illegal firearms. But soon, he realised his earnings were not sufficient to meet his needs. To earn easy money illegally he hatched a plan to procure country-made weapons and sell the same in Hyderabad for a profit.
As per his plan, Harekrishna Yadav procured three types of weapons from a person named Sampath Yadav from Bhojpur District, Bihar State. He kept them with him to sell them in Hyderabad city.
On January 15, when Harekrishna was travelling in the city, the SOT Bhongir Team along with Jawaharnagar Police stopped him and arrested him. They seized the contraband from him.
A case has been registered and the accused has been under sections 25(1)(A), 25(1B)(a) of Arms Act of Jawaharnagar Police Station.
