The Uppal police and the Special Operation Team of Malkajgiri Zone made the arrests on July 28 and recovered a pistol, five live rounds, two magazines, a four-wheeler vehicle, and other incriminating objects from the accused.
The accused were identified as Namala Narender (31), a businessman and a real estate agent from Vemulavada in Karimnagar district, and Chikkam Madhu Sudhan Reddy (41), an ex-serviceman from Pocham Road in Jodimetla. Narender has been previously involved in nine cases.
According to a statement by Rachakonda commissioner of police, DS Chauhan, “Namala Narender completed his graduation in Vemulavada and moved to Hyderabad. He got addicted to bad habits and started committing property offences to earn easy money. He was involved in property cases in various districts, including Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Cyberabad, between 2014 and 2016. He was arrested and sent to jail. In 2017, he was also charged under the PD Act (Prevention of Denotification) by the SR Nagar police in Hyderabad. He was released from jail in 2018.”
After he was released from jail, he went to Khammam and called himself ‘administrator-general & official trustee, state of Telangana, assistant district judge.’ He cheated innocent people by telling them that he could resolve their land disputes as he was an assistant district judge. He collected money from them in return. Later he was caught, a case was registered against him at the Khammam Rural police station, and he was sent to jail again.
Coming out of jail, Namala Narender met a web designer named Santhosh in Ameerpet. With Santhosh’s help, he created a fake profile as an additional civil judge at the High Court of Telangana. He then started cheating innocent people by posing as an assistant district judge.
“In 2021, he met Garlapati Somi Reddy, a resident of Vanasthalipuram. He introduced himself as an assistant district judge and collected Rs 10 lakhs from him to clear a land mutation issue in Khanapur village, Thorrur Mandal, Mahabubabad district. However, Namala Narender failed to clear the issue and started ignoring Garlapati Somi Reddy,” said the release.
Garlapati Somi Reddy later found out that Namala Narender had appointed an ex-serviceman named Chikkam Madhu Sudhan Reddy as his personal gunman. He was also doing land settlements in the Hyderabad area.
“On July 28, the Uppal police and the SOT of Malkajgiri zone apprehended Namala Narender and his personal gunman, Chikkam Madhu Sudhan Reddy. They were found with a pistol without a valid license, five live rounds, two magazines, a four-wheeler vehicle, fake visiting cards, Rs 7,500 in cash, and three mobile phones,” said Rachakonda Commissioner of Police.
