Hyderabad: On Monday, at around midnight, a brutal attack took place at a petrol station in Janwada under Narsingi police station limits that left one person dead and another seriously injured.

The incident occurred at the HP petrol station in Janwada when three young men arrived in a car for refueling. Despite being informed that the petrol station was closed and no fuel was available at that time, the youths insisted that they needed petrol as they had to travel a long way.

However, when the card payment did not work, the staff requested cash. This request seemed to anger the young men who then verbally abused and physically attacked the petrol station cashier. During the attack, a staff member, Sanjay, attempted to intervene and was fatally injured. Another person was also seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The accused youths fled the scene after the attack, but the incident was recorded on CCTV cameras installed at the petrol station.

The Narsingi police have identified the three accused as Narender, Mallesh, and Anup of Janwada village and launched a search to apprehend them.

The victim’s family members and villagers are outraged by the incident and staged a dharna at the Janwada gate, demanding severe punishment for the accused youths. The police said the accused have a criminal history and are wanted in some theft cases too.

Narsangi inspector Shiva Kumar said they have registered a case against the accused and are currently investigating the incident from all angles.
