Upset over TRS losing Dubbaka bypolls party worker ends life

Telangana: Upset over TRS party losing the by-election in Dubbaka Assembly constituency, a TRS party activist died by suicide late on Tuesday night, post results.

Identified as Swamy, he belonged to Koinapalli village in Doultabad mandal in Siddipet district. The man was found dead at his home. It is to note the BJP won Dubbaka by-polls by a narrow margin of 1071 votes while TRS stood second in the race. Since then there is a deafening silence within the TRS network in Dubbaka. The death of Swamy came as a shock to the cadre in the district

"Swamy was a dedicated TRS workers and had unconditional love for founder K ChandraShekar Rao. The loss of TRS In Dubbaka hit him, resulting in ending his life' said Mahesh, from TRS cadre. He is survived by wife and two children.

TRS senior leader and Finance Minister T Harish Rao visited and condoled the family. He took and also took part in the last rites of the party worker. "Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has expressed condolence and directed party leaders to visit the family" Harish Rao said.

The minister announced a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to Swamy's family and assured of complete support. " It is very sad that an active and hardworking party worker like Swamy took an extreme step. I urge all party workers to be patient and strong. Please do not resort to any such things," Harish said.

Recollecting how Swamy had worked for the party, Harish Rao said " The TRS party will take care of all the party workers. We are with you. Wining and losing is part of politics. But party cadres should not lose courage when unexpected things happen. We should stand strong. Rao also assured to provide education to Swamy's children in Telangana Residential School.
