Hyderabad: Vanasthalipuram sub-registrar held while accepting bribe to clear property file

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Friday caught a Sub-Registrar of Vanasthalipuram, Ranga Reddy district, while accepting a bribe to clear a property registration file.

Rs 1 lakh demanded

Officials said S Rajesh Kumar, Sub-Registrar, demanded Rs 1,00,000 from a complainant for processing the registration of his property. The complainant approached ACB, which set up a trap.

Money routed through a middleman

During the operation, the Sub-Registrar’s associate, K Ramesh of Nagole, collected Rs 70,000 from the complainant on his behalf. The tainted money was seized from him at the spot.
