Ongole: Another case of an inhuman act, where some youth urinating and attacking a man in Ongole, Prakasam district, went viral on social media on Tuesday morning. This reminds of a similar incident which happened in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, where a man urinated on a tribal person.

According to the Superintendent of Police, Prakasam district, Mallika Garg, the incident happened on June 19 in the outskirts of Prakasam district.

However, it came to light when the video went viral on social media, sparking outrage.

The victim is identified as Naveen, who belongs to the ST community. The prime accused, identified as Ramanjuneyulu, and eight others are childhood friends of Naveen. They have also been involved in property crimes in the past and have been rowdy sheeters with 30 cases against them.

The main accused, Ramanjuneyulu is currently on abscond.

On the day of the incident, the victim was lured outside by the main perpetrator, Ramanjuneyulu, under the pretext of going out for drinks. The nine friends attacked Naveen.

He got admitted to the hospital with injuries and then filed a police complaint on this incident.

On interrogation, the victim said to the police that there was a brawl between his friends and him but had not mentioned them urinating on him. After the video went viral, Naveen gave a statement that his friends, who belong to other castes, harassed him and threatened him by urinating on him.

"The motive for the crime is that Naveen eloped with Abhilash's girlfriend, and they wanted to take revenge. So, they called Naveen for a dinner meeting and then assaulted him," said Mallika Garg.

Out of the nine accused, six have been arrested. Three of the arrested are juveniles who are being produced before court. A case has been registered under sections 307 and SC/ST Act and further investigation is on.

Team has been deployed by the Prakasam police to nab the three absconding.
