Hyderabad: After the TSPSC paper leak, another shocking incident has come to light. Class X examination papers were leaked in Tandur mandal, Vikarabad, causing concern and uproar among students and parents on Monday. The news of the paper leak spread like wildfire on WhatsApp groups at 9:37 a.m. while the students were already in the exam hall.

Initially, the officials of the education department denied any paper leak, but the police confirmed that the paper was indeed leaked. Mandal education officer (MEO) Venkataiah has announced that he will file a complaint at the Tandur police station shortly.

A teacher, Bandyappa, reportedly shared the class X paper in a media group ‘Big News’ via WhatsApp while the students were already in the exam hall. The police have taken the teacher into custody and seized his cell phone for further investigation. A case will be registered against the invigilator for sending the paper from the exam hall.

Speaking to NewsMeter, the additional SP of Vikarabad said, “The police have identified the person who put the question paper on WhatsApp first and are interrogating him. The intention was to help one of the students.”

Student unions demand action

The incident has caused a lot of uproar and concern among the students and parents. The authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those involved in the paper leak.

“There should be a thorough inquiry into the leak of the class X paper,” said SFI and urged the authorities to take immediate action to avoid any loss to students. They also demanded a thorough investigation into the incident from the education department.

The Progressive Democratic Student Union PDSU also released a note demanding action. “Class X Telugu exam paper has been released in Vikarabad district’s Tandur. This exam paper appears as if the paper is out on WhatsApp within an hour of the exam starting. Lakhs of students appeared for these exams. We demand immediate action to avoid any loss to them,” said R.L. Murthy, state president, and T. Nagaraju, secretary of state.

The police have taken up the investigation in the class X paper leak case and more details are expected to emerge soon.
