Hyderabad: The Saifabad Police have arrested five young men following a viral social media video that captured them performing reckless stunts on a motorcycle near the Telangana Secretariat.

The incident

According to the police, the incident occurred in the early hours of March 29, at approximately 1 am. A group of five individuals was spotted on a black Pulsar motorcycle travelling from the Telangana Talli Flyover Junction toward the TG Secretariat.

The viral footage, which first surfaced on the Instagram handle ‘INFO 24 NEWS,’ showed the rider dangerously overloaded with four pillion riders. None of the five occupants were wearing helmets, and the rider was seen manoeuvring the vehicle in an extremely rash and negligent manner, posing a significant risk to themselves and other commuters on the road.

Legal action

Acting on the digital evidence, the Saifabad Police launched an investigation and identified the accused. A case has been registered under Crime Number 112/2026 at the Saifabad Police Station.

The accused have been booked under the following sections:

Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS): Sections 281 (Rash driving) and 125 (Endangering life or personal safety of others).

Motor Vehicles (MV) Act: Sections 184 (Dangerous driving), 188 (Punishment for offences), and 128(1) read with 177.

Accused details

The police apprehended the following five individuals:

Vaddi Arjun (22), the rider, a private employee from Vidyanagar.

Arupu Rohit (19), a pillion rider and Rapido worker from Manikeshwar Nagar.

Chinthakunta Anja Kumar (19), a student from Ramnagar Gundu.

Siddam Koushik (18), a student from Manikeshwar Nagar.

Vallapu Murali (18), a car mechanic from Adikmet.

Advisory

Following the arrests, the Saifabad Police issued a strong warning to citizens, urging them to adhere to traffic regulations. Authorities emphasised that public roads are not places for stunts and that such negligent behaviour will continue to face strict legal consequences.
