Vizag man bites off neighbour's lower lip, attacks his family

Visakhapatnam: A man attacked his neighbour and reportedly bit off a part of the neighbour's lower lip and face over a small issue in their apartment at Lalithanagar of Yendada under Arilova police station limits in Vizag city.

Though the incident took place on the night of 15 December, it came to light on Saturday after the family of the victim Pothala Srinivasa Rao (50) and residents of the apartment approached the police seeking stringent action against the accused, M. Bhagavan Choudari, who has been abusing and attacking the residents of the apartment for the past few months.

As per reports, the victim, Srinivasa Rao, lives in one of the flats in Genesis apartment and the accused, Bhagavan Choudari, is also a resident of the same apartment. When Srinivasa Rao was about to enter his flat on Thursday night, Bhagavan Choudari attacked him with a stick and iron rod and later, bit off Rao's lower lip. The accused also abused and attacked Rao's family members and abused the women in the apartment.

The injured Srinivasa Rao was shifted to a private hospital in the city.

The residents of the apartment, in the police complaint, said earlier, Bhagavan Choudari has abused many women in the apartment and tried to attack some people in the past. They appealed to the police to take immediate action him for their safety.

Sub-inspector of Arilova police station, Gudesetti Appa Rao, said they have registered a case against Bhagavan Choudari under sections 324, 325, and 509 of IPC and the investigation is underway to arrest the accused, he added.
