By Newsmeter Network Published on 22 Jun 2023 2:52 AM GMTVisakhapatnam: Breaking his silence after his son, wife, and friend were held hostage, Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana lambasted opposition leaders and some media houses for churning conspiracy theories and making up stories in a bid to rub salt on his family’s wounds.
Talking to the reporters for the first time after the incident, the MP said the kidnappers who happen to be habitual offenders came only for money and nothing else. The MP narrated in detail how he had a happy dinner with the family on the night of June 12 and how the kidnappers jumped the compound wall and entered his son Sarat’s house at Rushikonda the following morning at 5 am.
The entire day the kidnappers, Hemant and Rajesh, beat him up after tying his hands and legs. Later they made him call his wife Joyti at 3 pm on June 13. She went there after the car dropped him at the airport. She too was taken hostage and the following day they made her call his auditor and friend G Venkateswara Rao (GV). He was also tied up and beaten up mercilessly.
“My son suffered for 50 hours without food and water and my wife for 30 hours. She too was violently attacked,’’ the MP said.
He said it was unfortunate that some opposition leaders instead of showing sympathy to his family members are making up stories of conspiracy and getting them published in some newspapers.
Calling Narsapur MP K Raghurama Krishna Raju a “rabid dog”, Satyanarayana said when his family members were taken close to the doors of death, he made some senseless statements.
He also took strong objections to the former BJP MLA P Vishnukumar Raju who said there was a conspiracy and central agencies needed to probe in detail.
“I welcome the CBI inquiry. Let the central agency probe in detail from day one till the hooligans were caught,’’ Satyanarayana said.
He said the main accused Hemant has 13 cases including one murder and a rape and the second accused Rajesh was involved in 45 cases spread over the State.
“How can it be a conspiracy when hardened criminals attack my family for money?” he asked. He came to know about the kidnap of his family members only after the police told him.
Shifting business to Hyderabad
When asked why he was shifting to Hyderabad, the MP replied that he did not want to mix business with politics.
He said he would serve the Visakhapatnam people but do business in Hyderabad. He said baseless allegations were bringing a bad name to the government. He said he has already started work on constructing more than 150 flats.
