Visakhapatnam: Police rescued a six-month-old boy from the kidnappers and restored him to his parents in Visakhapatnam Agency on Sunday.

The boy was kidnapped by some unidentified miscreants near Araku weekly market locality under Dumbriguda police station limits in Vizag Agency in the early hours of Friday. It came to the fore on Saturday when his parents lodged a complaint with the police.

Hailing from Sagar city in Madhya Pradesh, the couple along with their boy and relatives came to Araku a few days ago in search of livelihood. They manufacture and sell axes, knives, and other farm implements.

When the family was asleep in a tent on Thursday night, the miscreants kidnapped the boy. Though the parents searched for him on Friday and Saturday, their efforts proved futile. Finally, they informed the police.

After questioning a few people, police zeroed in on the kidnappers and rescued the boy. He was later handed over to the parents.
