Vizag: School peon befriends minor, attempts to rape her; held
He was identified as K Satya Rao, working as a peon in a school. The victim is also a student of the same school.

Visakhapatnam: Disha police have arrested a 43-year-old man for attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl in Vizag.
The victim happened to be his neighbor. Both reside in the same apartment. Though the incident occurred on June 30, it came to light on July 6 when the victim's parents lodged a police complaint.
Police arrested the accused on Sunday. He was identified as K Satya Rao, working as a peon in a school. The victim is also a student of the same school.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Disha), Ch Vivekananda said that the accused and the victim’s family, have been residing at an apartment for the past few years.
The accused befriended the girl. On June 30, he took her to the apartment terrace and allegedly attempted to rape her. Since the incident, the girl has become dull and stopped talking to people including her family members. When her mother insisted, the girl narrated the ordeal. The parents later complained to the police.
"Her father said his daughter was sexually assaulted and the girl named some more persons. We are trying to find them,’’ the ACP said.
The accused was booked under the relevant sections of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The victim is currently availing treatment at a hospital.
