Visakhapatnam: In a shocking incident, a teenager allegedly killed his mother by stabbing her for not letting him play online games at their residence in Malkapuram here.
The deceased was identified as Alka Singh (48), wife of an employee with the Indian Coast Guard. Singhās husband, an Indian Coast Guard Commander Balbir Singh, was apparently stationed in Odisha at the time of the incident.
Upon receiving information about the incident from locals, Malkapuram police rushed to the spot and found Alka Singh lying in a pool of blood.
According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that Alka Singhās elder son Anmol Singh was suspected of killing his mother as he was addicted to online games for the past few months.
Alka Singh warned her son multiple times not to become addicted to internet games and forbade him from playing them on his laptop. On Thursday night, Alka Singh prevented him from playing online games and confiscated his mobile and laptop, resulting in a heated confrontation between them.
Unable to control his anger, Anmol Singh killed her by stabbing her, locked the house and fled the spot. When Singhās younger daughter arrived home from college, she found her mother lying dead in a pool of blood.
āWe have recovered a knife from a bag in the house, and it has been taken as evidence. Anmol Singh has been taken into custody. A case has been registered, and further investigation is on to ascertain the exact reason for the murder,ā the police said.
