Vizag: Youth murdered; another found dead under mysterious circumstances

Visakhapatnam: A youngster was murdered and another was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

In the first incident, a man was murdered by his fellow worker following an argument over a petty issue at Pentayyanagar under Gajuwaka police station limits in Vizag city in the wee hours of Tuesday. The victim is K. Ramana and the accused is Yeshu Raju. Both worked in a chicken shop. Raju surrendered before the police.

Deputy commissioner of police (crimes), Vizag city, Gandam Naganna said the murder was a result of an argument over a petty issue. Ramana and Yeshu Raju had been staying in a small room for the past few months. The duo consumed liquor on Monday night and there was an argument between them over a trivial issue. During the argument, Ramana abused Yeshu Raju and he beat him with a plastic bucket. Later, the duo calmed down and went to sleep.

A total of 14 murders were reported in the city in the past two months. In most cases, either the victim or the accused was in an inebriated condition.

In the second incident, the body of Ganta Ganesh was found under suspicious circumstances at Pulaganipalem under Pendurthi police station limits in Vizag city. The police said Ganesh went missing a few days ago and was found lifeless on Tuesday. The police suspect that Ganesh might have died by suicide. His parents and relatives alleged that Ganesh was murdered by some persons and that they tried to make it look like a suicide.
