Hyderabad: The Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad, have arrested a 39-year-old YouTuber for allegedly creating, uploading and circulating child sexual abuse material on social media platforms.

The arrest was made in connection with Crime No. 1885/2025 registered by the Cyber Crime Police Station following a suo motu investigation.

Arrest and charges

The accused, Kambeti Satya Murthy, a resident of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, was taken into custody after investigators established that he operated a YouTube channel named ‘Viral Hub’ (@ViralHub007).

The channel allegedly hosted objectionable videos involving minors, in violation of child protection and cyber laws.

Offence amounts to sexual exploitation

According to police, the videos featured interviews with minors aged between 15 and 17 years. During these interactions, the accused allegedly posed obscene, sexually explicit and vulgar questions.

In one instance, he is said to have induced two minor children to kiss each other on camera, amounting to sexual exploitation. Authorities stated that the content contained explicit language and indecent behaviour, grossly violating legal safeguards meant to protect children.

Case registration and investigation

On October 16, 2025, Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad, registered a suo motu case after the videos surfaced online. Technical analysis confirmed the content’s illegality. Based on digital evidence, investigators identified, traced and arrested the accused.

Modus Operandi

Police said the accused had been active on social media since 2018, operating the YouTube channel ViralHub007 and an Instagram account Viralhub_007. Initially, he conducted interviews with social media influencers using vulgar language to attract viewers and generate revenue.

Over time, he allegedly escalated his activities by targeting minors, using sexually explicit language during interviews and uploading the content to boost views and monetisation.

Public advisory

The Cyber Crime Police issued a stern warning that:

- Any exploitation of minors for online content is a serious criminal offence.

- Interviewing minors using obscene or sexually suggestive language, inducing inappropriate acts or uploading such content is punishable under the law.

- Creating, uploading or sharing sexually explicit material involving children attracts stringent punishment under the IT Act, POCSO Act and other criminal laws.

Where to complain about objectionable online content?

Citizens should report child abuse content or cybercrimes to the nearest police station or Cyber Crime unit.

Complaints can also be lodged via Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 or www.cybercrime.gov.in.

Police reiterated that offenders will face immediate legal action without leniency and urged the public to remain vigilant online.
