Vizianagaram: Four children die of suffocation in a parked car

Vizianagaram: Four children died of suffocation after accidentally getting locked inside a parked car at Dwarapudi village in Vizianagaram district.

Among the victims were two sisters—B Charumathi (8) and B Jasrita (6)—along with M Uday (8) and K Manaswini (6).

The tragedy occurred on May 19 when the children were playing nearby as their parents were occupied with daily chores. The group reportedly found an unlocked car and got inside to play. Unfortunately, the doors of the vehicle automatically locked, trapping them inside.

According to the police, due to ongoing wedding celebrations in the vicinity and loud DJ music, no one could hear the children’s cries for help or banging on the windows.

When the children did not return for several hours, their anxious parents began searching. After a desperate search, they were discovered unconscious inside the parked vehicle. The parents broke open a window to rescue them and rushed them to the hospital, where doctors declared all four children dead on arrival.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
