Vizianagaram: `Monster dad' sentenced to 10 years in jail for raping minor daughter

Vizianagaram: Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act court sentenced a man to 10 years in jail for raping his 14-year-old daughter.
Judge Sheik Shikinder convicted Y Satya Rao (35) in the Vizianagaram district. He also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.
The judge said the evidence against the accused was overwhelming.
The incident dates back to 2021 when the victim, a student of a Residential School, came home after due to the Covid-19.
The accused repeatedly raped his daughter in 2021
On one occasion, when he tried taking her to an isolated place, the victim refused and called the police. However, he thrashed her and threw her out of the home.
The victim narrated the entire episode to the police. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act. He was arrested and a charge sheet was filed. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in jail.
