Vizianagaram: SI caught red-handed accepting Rs 15000 bribe

ACB officials said that BV Ramu, a native of Pathasunkarapalem of Kothavalasa Mandal, approached Sub- Inspector to obtain station bail. The sub-inspector however demanded Rs 50,000.
After negotiation, it was decided that the complainant would pay Rs 30,000. The police officer had taken Rs 15,000 bribe from the accused as advance.
Unable to bear the harassment, Ramu lodged a complaint with ACB a few days ago. Based on the complaint, the ACB officials laid a trap and caught sub-inspector red-handed accepting the remaining balance of Rs 15,000 from Ramu.
