Warangal: A POCSO case has been registered against Warangal Circle Inspector Ravi Kumar for sexually assaulting a girl while she was alone at her house in Wadepally in Hanamkonda.
Though the incident happened on October 19, it came to light on Tuesday after the girl filed a complaint at Kazipet police station. Based on her complaint, the police registered cases under Sections 127 (2), 75 (2), 351 (2), BNS, 9 (a)v, 9 (c), r/w10 POCSO Act 2012.
In her complaint, the victim said that the CI who was residing on the same floor in Flat no B-403 found her speaking with her classmate and friend Trinadh adjoining his residence on Flat no B-405. The CI came to the spot when she was talking with her friend and questioned her friend. Then she replied that he was a classmate and friend, whereupon Ravi Kumar told her to send her friend away and come to his flat.
Due to fear, she went to Ravi Kumar’s flat. Taking advantage of the situation, the CI caught her arm and attempted to drag her towards his bedroom. At that moment, the victim resisted the CI and thereafter he misbehaved with her as he was alone in the flat. Later, Ravi Kumar threatened her not to disclose it to her parents and forcibly took her phone number and verified the same by giving a missed call from the official phone.
More details are awaited.
