Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman from Balanagar has lodged a complaint with the Sanathnagar police, alleging sexual harassment during a job interview at a private school in Fathenagar.
Complainant responded to job ad on mobile app
According to the police, the woman had applied for a private job through a local mobile application, following which she received a message from a school inviting her for an interview.
Acting on the message, she visited Vasishta School in Fathenagar on Thursday.
During the interview, the school correspondent, identified as Naubathulla Venkata Ramana (60), allegedly offered her a salary of Rs 20,000 per month and initially asked her to handle phone calls and interact with visitors.
He later proposed that she work as his personal assistant and allegedly made inappropriate personal remarks.
The complainant stated that the accused then closed the office door and sought sexual favours. She further alleged that he touched her inappropriately and forcibly took her mobile phone when she attempted to record his remarks.
Police register case
After repeatedly requesting him to return her phone, she managed to come out of the office and approached the police.
Based on her complaint, Sanathnagar police have registered a case under Section 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An investigation is currently underway.
