Woman dies by suicide following daughter’s marriage against her will
Mother was depressed after her daughter married her college mate

Hyderabad: A tragic incident took place in Kukatpally on Tuesday, when G Nirmala (45), a resident of Jayanagar colony, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. According to her husband, Gonugunta Srinivas Rao, Nirmala was depressed when their daughter, Niharika (25), got married to her college mate Raj Kumar, against Nirmala’s wishes.
Nirmala’s son, Sai Teja, found her hanging from the ceiling fan after she did not respond to his attempts to open the locked bedroom door. Neighbours and relatives were immediately informed, and the police were notified.
Nirmala was residing in Kukatpally for the past 10 years with her family. Her husband, who works as a private employee, stated that Nirmala was deeply affected by her daughter’s marriage, which took place five days prior to the incident. The Kukatpally police registered a case and are investigating the incident.
