Woman drowns her one-month-old son in water drum in Vizag
A woman killed her 37-day-old son by throwing him into a water drum in Narsapuram village under Kasimkota police station limits in Vizag district on Saturday. The woman, Ch. Sandhya, was taken into custody by the local police.

Visakhapatnam: A woman killed her 37-day-old son by throwing him into a water drum in Narsapuram village under Kasimkota police station limits in Vizag district on Saturday. The woman, Ch. Sandhya, was taken into custody by the local police.
The locals said Sandhya and Ch. Appala Raju had married a few years ago against the wishes of their families. The couple was blessed with a boy in October this year.
On Saturday, Sandhya said her son was missing and alerted others. Later, the baby boy was found dead in a water drum in their home.
Sub-inspector of Kasimkota L. Suresh Kumar and his team visited the spot and concluded that someone had killed the boy by dumping him into the water drum and closing the lid. During questioning, Sandhya confessed that it was she who threw her son into the water drum.
The police have registered a case and arrested the woman. Further investigation into the case will ascertain the exact reasons for the death of the baby boy, the SI said.
