Woman kills 48-year-old in Shamshabad to avoid repaying loans, held
Police said it is a pre-planned the murder. The accused Rizwana took a loan from Manjula and wanted to avoid paying it back

Hyderabad: The Shamshabad Police arrested a woman who murdered a 48-year-old woman and burned her body in Srinivas Enclave in Shamshabad on Saturday. The victim was identified as Vadla Manjula, a resident of Rallaguda that comes under the Shamshabad police station.
Manjula’s husband, Lakshmaiah, filed a missing person report with the police on Friday evening after Manjula went missing for two days. He said that she left for the hospital complaining of stomach ache and never returned.
The police said that money might be the reason behind the crime. The accused, Shaik Rizwana Begum (29) had taken loans from the Vadla Manjula (48). Rizwana was paying huge interest to Manjula for the loans she had taken. She took loans of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000, and Rs 50,000 and was paying huge interest to Manjula.
According to Shamshabad DCP Narayana Reddy, “Rizwana pre-planned the murder. She took a loan from Manjula and wanted to avoid paying it back. She invited Manjula to her house on the pretext of paying interest for the loan and writing a bond. When Manjula arrived, Rizwana attacked her with chilli powder and strangled her neck with a sari. She then wrapped the body in a bedsheet and kept it below the bed.”
Shamshabad DCP further said, “Later that night, Rizwana dragged the body to an empty plot and poured petrol on it. She set the body on fire and burnt it to ashes. But the body was not completely burnt. She then took the gold chain and earrings from Manjula’s neck and left for Kothur. She stayed there for the night and returned home the next morning.”
“Some labourers saw the dead body on Friday morning and informed the police. The police took Manjula’s husband to the mortuary, where he identified her body. The police then apprehended Rizwana and took her to the police station. Upon interrogation, Rizwana admitted to killing Manjula,” said DCP Narayana Reddy.
The police produced Rizwana in court and she has been remanded to custody. A case has been registered.
