Hyderabad: Rajendranagar police have arrested three men in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a 32-year-old woman, whose body was found under the Musi River Bridge.

The victim, who went missing on September 14, was subjected to a horrific ordeal by the accused, who have been identified and charged with kidnapping, gang rape, sexual assault and murder.

Victim was lured in by the accused

The harrowing sequence of events began on the night of September 14, when the intoxicated victim was spotted near Pillar No. 143.

Meka Durga Reddy (33), a car driver, allegedly lured her into his vehicle, promising her food. He took her to a location near the KLCC Function Hall where he sexually assaulted her before dropping her off at Pillar No. 306.

It was there that the two other accused, auto drivers Gulam Dastagir Khan (26) and Mohd. Imran (25) forced her into their rented vehicle. They drove to the secluded Musi River Bridge at Kismathpur, where they raped her.

When the victim resisted, Dastagir Khan brutally bludgeoned her with sticks, causing fatal injuries. The two men then fled the scene, leaving her body in the bushes.

Criminal history of the accused

The three men arrested have a history of criminal activity.

Gulam Dastagir Khan (alias Rehan, alias Five Star), 26, is an auto driver with previous arrests for serious offences. He was previously charged in two different cases under BNS sections for similar violent crimes.
