Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills Police have registered a case against the owner of a YouTube channel for allegedly sharing derogatory and inflammatory content targeting Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, state ministers, and Congress party leaders.
According to a complaint filed by Muchu Parmesh Yadav (27), a local businessman from Banjara Hills, the issue came to light on April 7. While browsing YouTube, Yadav came across a video on the āNews Line Teluguā channel that reportedly contained offensive remarks and controversial captions aimed at the Chief Minister and members of the Telangana Cabinet.
The complaint alleges that the channelās owner, identified as Shankar, deliberately uploaded the video to incite hatred and disturb public harmony for the sake of online popularity and revenue. It also notes that Shankar had previously circulated a misleading video regarding land issues at Hyderabad Central University.
Yadav stated that Shankar operates the āNews Line Teluguā channel from Banjara Hills and accused him of promoting fake content to provoke enmity between political parties and disrupt peace in the region.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case on Monday and launched an investigation into the matter.
