Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills Police have registered a case against the owner of a YouTube channel for allegedly sharing derogatory and inflammatory content targeting Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, state ministers, and Congress party leaders.

According to a complaint filed by Muchu Parmesh Yadav (27), a local businessman from Banjara Hills, the issue came to light on April 7. While browsing YouTube, Yadav came across a video on the ā€œNews Line Teluguā€ channel that reportedly contained offensive remarks and controversial captions aimed at the Chief Minister and members of the Telangana Cabinet.

The complaint alleges that the channelā€™s owner, identified as Shankar, deliberately uploaded the video to incite hatred and disturb public harmony for the sake of online popularity and revenue. It also notes that Shankar had previously circulated a misleading video regarding land issues at Hyderabad Central University.

Yadav stated that Shankar operates the ā€œNews Line Teluguā€ channel from Banjara Hills and accused him of promoting fake content to provoke enmity between political parties and disrupt peace in the region.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case on Monday and launched an investigation into the matter.
