In her police complaint, Suneetha said, āFor the past few days, a Facebook account with the username āVarra Ravindra Reddyā has been making grossly offensive, obnoxious and instigating posts against me, my cousin YS Sharmila and also my aunt YS Vijayamma. The account was created on January 14.ā
Suneetha said that she visited her cousin YS Sharmila who was in Idupulapaya in YSR Kadapa district on January 29. The same was widely reported in print and social media.
āOne of my well-wishers sent me a Facebook link. On opening the post, I came to know that a handle named Varra Ravindra Reddy posted a video of me. The post reads, āThe elders have told us that the enemies should not be left. They should be killed. It will be useful for this electionā,ā she said.
Suneetha also said that earlier she was concerned about a threat to her life and the same was brought to the notice of the police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on several occasions after her fatherās murder.
āI came to know, through others, that Varra Ravindra Reddy is a habitual offender and multiple complaints have been raised against him for abusing women with no action allegedly because of his proximity to the ruling YSRCP Government, which is also reflected through his posts,ā she said.
Suneetha has filed a plea to take legal action against her intimidators. Cyber Crime DCP Shilpa Valli said that Suneetha had filed a report because of posts she had seen on social media and promised that the people making these threats would face consequences.
