Cyber stalker arrested for harassing a minor girl through Instagram
By Newsmeter Network Published on 7 July 2020 11:57 AM GMTHyderabad: Rachakonda cyber crime police on July 6, 2020, arrested Danaboina Shubham Yadav, 20, for harassing a girl by sending sexually explicit photos and messages through fake Instagram.
Yadav’ was apprehended from his residence at Bahadurpura, Hyderabad. During interrogation, he admitted to his guilt and stated that, during his intermediate education, the victim’s sister was his classmate.
During the investigation, the police found out, based on the technical evidence, that the accused, the victim and his sister became good friends. At that time, he took photos with three of them together on his mobile phone. A few days later, he started blackmailing the victim and asked her to send nude photos and videos of his sister, else, he threatened to upload the photos they took together on the social media platforms.
Fearing the worst, she shared a video of her sister while changing her clothes through WhatsApp to him. Then he created a fake Instagram account on the name and he started sending blackmailing messages and screen shot pictures of that video to the victim’s Instagram with an intention to extort money from her and threatened that if she failed to give money, he would upload her video on the social media platforms.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim at the Cyber Crime PS, Rachakonda, police registered a case in Cr. No: 255/2020 u/s 354D, 506 IPC, Sec. 12 POCSO Act & Sec. 66C & 67A of IT ACT.
