Cyberabad: A cop serving at the RC Puram police falling under Cyberabad commissionerate of Greater Hyderabad, came to the rescue of a widow and her two children. The sub-inspector of police conducted the funeral of the husbands besides donating Rs 10,000 to the family.

It so happened, that, Fathima, and her husband Raghavendra Reddy , both natives of Koyalakondla in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh shifted to Hyderabad post their wedding.

According to the Cyberabad police, the couple's families had objected to their marriage and that is when the two decided to move to Hyderabad. Raghavendra was an alcohol addict and in due course of time, his health started deteriorating. He was admitted to a hospital in Pathancheru, where he died due to epilepsy complications.

Following his death, Fathima got in touch with his family but she was rebuked. They, in fact, asked her to conduct the funeral. Helpless, Fathima walked into RC Puram local police station with the hope that she might get some assistance.

Moved by the plight of the woman, RC Puram sub-inspector Koteswar Rao and constable Gal Reddy spoke to the dead husband's parents and the village elders through a conference call. The conversation resulted in the family accepting the body. With this, Koteswar Rao gave the woman Rs. 10,000 and ensured that the body reached home safely.
