The gender ratio in the 18 to 19 age group has improved from 754 to 791
By Sulogna Mehta Published on 8 Feb 2024 2:05 PM GMTHyderabad: After the completion of the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral roll, the final electoral roll has been published for all the 119 Assembly Constituencies in Telangana on Thursday. As per the final roll, the number of electors is 3,30,37,113 voters out of whom 1,64,47,132 are males 1,65,87,244 are females and 2,737 belong to the third gender. There are 15,378 service electors and 3,399 overseas electors.
In the process of publication of the final roll, applications received before January 22 were disposed of. As a result, from the date of draft publication of the roll till February 3, as many as 7,19,104 additions, 5,26,867 deletions and 4,21,521 corrections of entries were carried out.
Signifying inclusiveness behind the electoral process, the gender ratio of the electoral roll has improved from 1000 on January 6 to 1009 in the final roll. The gender ratio in the 18 to 19 age group has improved from 754 to 791. There are 4,54,230 voters who are above 80 years of age and 5,28,405 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The number of third gender persons has increased to 2,737.
Updation of electoral rolls continue
It is important to note that though the final roll has been published, the exercise of continuous updating of the electoral roll will continue. All eligible persons (those who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2024, and who are otherwise eligible) who could not make an application for enrolment earlier, are once again requested to apply for inclusion in the roll.
Further, those persons who will complete 18 years of age on the other three qualifying dates, that is, April 1, July 1, and October 1, 2024, are eligible to make advance applications for enrollment.
All citizens have been requested to check their enrolment details like the polling station they are attached to by logging into the votersā service portal or through the Voter Helpline App (VHA). In case of any mistakes in enrolment details, the elector can apply for correction using form 8, online or on VHA or through the booth level officer (BLO), informed Vikas Raj, chief electoral officer (CEO) and EO, principal secretary to the government.
