Telangana LS polls: Congress vote share 40.10%, BJP 35.08%; both show gains from 2019 polls

Telangana LS polls: Congress vote share 29.79%, BJP 35.08%; both show gains from 2019 polls

Hyderabad: In the 2024 Telangana Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and Congress won eight seats each and the AIMIM won one seat (Hyderabad). BRS did not win any seats. Telangana has 17 Parliament Constituencies (PC).

Hereā€™s a detailed breakdown of the data from the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Congress

The Congress won eight seats in Telangana: Peddapalle, Zahirabad, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Bhongir, Warangal, Mahabubabad and Khammam.




The candidate who won the most number of votes among them is Kunduru Raghuveer in Nalgonda PC with 7,84,337 votes. He also won by the largest margin of winning votes of 5,59,905 votes against the runner-up Saidi Reddy Shanampudi of the BJP.

The lowest margin of winning votes was by Suresh Kumar Shetkar by 46,188 votes in Zahirabad PC against BB Patil of the BJP who came second with 4,82,230 votes.

Dr Mallu Ravi won the Nagarkurnool PC with the smallest number of winning votes with 4,65,072 votes.

The total votes garnered by all the Congress candidates is 48,43,554 votes. The vote share of Congress stood at 40.10 per cent in the 2024 polls. The Congress vote share in the 2019 General Elections in Telangana was 29.79 per cent.

BJP

The BJP also won eight seats in Telangana: Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, Chevella and Mahabubnagar.




The candidate who won the most number of votes among them is Eatala Rajender in Malkajgiri PC with 9,91,042 votes. Eatala Rajender won by the largest margin of votes of 3,91,475 votes against the runner-up Patnam Suneetha Mahender Reddy of Congress who won 5,99,567 votes.

Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, who won the Chevella MP seat, came second in winning votes with 8,09,882 votes.

The smallest number of winning votes was by Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao in Medak PC by 4,71,217 votes.

The smallest margin of votes was won by Aruna DK in Mahabubnagar by 4,500 votes against Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy of Congress who came second with 5,06,247 votes.

The total votes garnered by all the BJP candidates is 50,01,502 votes. The vote share of BJP stood at 35.08 per cent in the 2024 polls. The BJP vote share in the 2019 General Elections in Telangana was 19.65 per cent.
