Days after questioning Shaikpet Tahasildars husband ends life

Hyderabad: Assistant Professor G Ajay Kumar, husband of tainted Shaikpet Tehsildar Ch Sujatha has allegedly ended his life after jumping from a multi-storied building at Chikkadpally of Hyderabad on Wednesday morning.

Kumar’s wife was recently arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a bribery case.

The 47-year-old was working as a professor in the political science department at the Osmania University at Hyderabad.

After Sujatha’s arrest, he was questioned by the ACB sleuths in connection with Rs 30 lakh unaccounted money seized from her residence at Tolichowki.

Sources said since his wife's arrest, he had moved to his relative’s house at Gandhi Nagar in Chikkadpally. It is learnt that he took the extreme step at 7 am on Wednesday.

He jumped from the terrace of the building and died on the spot. Alerted by the apartment staff, his relatives found him in a pool of blood.

Chikkadpally police teams rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania hospital for postmortem.

Police have also seized his mobile phone. Police are verifying whether he has left any suicide note. Police are investigating all angles.

Meanwhile, Sujatha is serving her judicial remand at Central prison. Besides, the revenue inspector of Shaikpet Nagarjuna Reddy and Banjara Hills sub-inspector Ravinder were also arrested in the case related to the disputed land
