All smiles: Deccan branch of Indian Dental Associations bags 3 awards at IDC-2020

Hyderabad: The Deccan branch of the Indian Dental Association bagged three awards at the Indian Dental Conference-2020 in Tiruvananthapuram on Friday.

Deccan branch president Dr Y Sudheer Reddy received the Dr US Krishna Nayak Trophy under the category of 'Best local branch president of the country', a special appreciation award under TII category (tobacco intervention initiatives) for public and professional activities and the IDA Thane branch National award under the Best All-round activity local branch.

The awards were given by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The awardees were selected from over 650 local IDA branches across the country based on their performance in 2019.

Established in 1946, the IDA is a premier organisation with for over 75,000 dental professionals as its members. The main focus of the association is on pioneering prevention and intervention of dental diseases rather than cure.

The IDA organises projects and programmes under its 29 state branches and 650 local branches in association with corporate agencies in the field of dental care and hygiene and educates and motivates the masses on oral health and hygiene.

The association says it aims at attaining professional excellence in day-to-day clinical and research activities and making India a hub of oral healthcare destination of the world.
