`Degree College’ lands into trouble over `obscene posters

Hyderabad: Two days ahead of its grand release, Narasimha Nandi’s romantic thriller 'Degree College’ has landed into a trouble after SR Nagar police registered case against the filmmakers for displaying 'obscene posters' of the movie at Maitrivanam junction in Ameerpet.

Police officials said the movie’s 'obscene’ posters were put up at different locations around the junction which was causing inconvenience to the people especially women. Everyday hundreds of vehicles pass through this busy junction.

Taking a suo moto cognizance, SR Nagar police registered a case and started investigation. Cops also summoned director, producer and the film crew to the police station on Wednesday night for questioning.

A romantic thriller, Degree College is directed by Narasimha Nandi and produced by Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. Narasimha Nandi was awarded National Film Award for best director for the movie '1940 Lo Oka Gramam', in 2008. He was also awarded Sarojini Devi Award for National Integration and part of the Jury for South Region at 60th National Film Awards.

Degree College has Varun, Sri Divya in the lead and Duvvasi Mohan, Jayavani, Srinivas Madan and RK in the supporting roles. Sunil Kashyap has composed the music. The movie is scheduled to hit the theaters on Friday. The movie has been in the eye of controversy since the launch of its trailer
