Property registrations in TS to resume from Dasara, KCR to launch Darani portal

Hyderabad: Property registration in Telangana will begin from Dasara. Property registrations have been prohibited in Telangana from September 8, 2020 as the Telangana state government decided to bring new Revenue Act in Legislative Assembly.

The Telangana Legislative Assembly passed the new Revenue Act on September 11, 2020 making all property transactions online through Dharani portal to check corruption in revenue department in registration and mutation of properties.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to launch Dharani portal on Dasara festival day this year. Since people consider that new programmes and activities started on Vijaya Dasami day would become successful, KCR has instructed the officials concerned to complete all works by the festival time. He asked the officials to keep the software, hardware and bandwidth of the portal ready before the launch.

He also announced that the tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, sub-registrars would be given the required training on the changed registration procedure, completion of the mutations quickly and updating all the details on the portal.

He said demo trials would be held to give hands-on training and create awareness among the officials. KCR also instructed the officials to appoint one computer operator in every mandal and at every sub-registrar office.

The CM also announced that across the state, registration rates would be fixed survey number-wise and that the registrations would be done as per the fixed rates. He said document writers at the sub-registrar offices would also be trained and licences would be issued to them. He asked the officials to enter data about all properties on the Dharani portal before Dasara. The changes and updating of data would be done regularly, he said.

As the portal would be launched on Dasara, registrations would also begin on the same day, he said and clarified that registration or other related activities would not be allowed before the festival.
