Documentary on Uttarakhand farmer nominated for Oscars

Titled āMoti Baghā, the project brings attention to the struggles faced by a farmer in a remote Himalayan village.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat congratulated director Nirmal Chander Dandriyal for the nomination. He mentioned that the film is based on the life of Vidyadutt, a farmer hailing from Pauri Garhwal region in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the documentary would help inspire youngsters to stay in their villages and work for the betterment of their communities. āIt will help stop migrations from remote areas,ā he added.
The Uttarakhand CM also appealed to young farmers to play an active role in preventing migrations. He urged the people to take advantage of the schemes launched by the government for their benefits.
