Drug peddler caught with LSD, MDMA and ganja at Vizag's Tenneti park

Vishakapatnam: The Vizag city police arrested a 27-year- old youth who was allegedly selling drugs near Tenneti Park in Vizag city.

The accused has been identified as Saripalli Varma Raju (26), a resident of Lawsons Bay Colony and native of Nakkapalle in Vizag district. The police have seized five full and half LSD blots , 200 milligrams MDMA, 200 gms ganja, rolling sheets, mobile phone, a motorcycle.

According to Inspector of Arilova police station, T Emmanuel Raju, based on credible information of illegal possession, transportation and selling of drugs. The police along with officials from City Task Force (CTF) carried out searches at Tenneti Park area in Vizag city.

When accused Varma Raju allegedly tried to escape after noticing police, the teams nabbed him. Upon checking, the police seized two LSD blots from him. The accused confessed that he was about to sell the LSD to some students for Rs 2,000. Police said that some more narcotics drugs were seized from his restaurant near Jodugullapalem after conducting checkings.

Police are investigating from where the accused had procured the narcotic drugs and whether there are any more persons involved in the drug peddling along with Varma Raju. The police have registered cases against the accused under NDPS Act and investigation is on. EOM
