Drunk cop suspended for sitting on road, blocking traffic

Hyderabad: A police constable was suspended after he got drunk and created a ruckus in the middle of a road in Hyderabad. M Eshwaraiah, who is close to his retirement, had been deputed to the Falaknuma police station and was posted at Goshala on picket duty.
On Monday night, Eshwaraiah turned up for work in an intoxicated condition. He sat on the road for a long time, created a nuisance and blocked traffic. Despite repeated pleas from motorists, he refused to move away.
As videos of the drunk cop went viral on social media, Hyderabad Police Commission Anjani Kumar ordered his suspension. The Inspector of Falaknuma police station has also been handed a charge memo for failing to check such act of misconduct of his junior, said police officers.
