Goons attack tent owners in Balkampet, later claims a ‘Minister wants to settle the issue’

Hyderabad: A gang of goons created ruckus at the famous Renuka Yellamma temple at Balkampet and assaulted a few individuals. The issue broke out when the tent house owner asked the goons to return the tent, as it was out of time. It led to an argument, following which the goons chased the tent house workers to the main roads and attacked them. Though the entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras and police registered a case, the goons have been forcing the victims to withdraw the case. Reportedly, they are also threatening the victims using a Minister’s name.

According to sources, the incident happened late on Sunday night. The goons were partying near the temple and had hired a tent from the nearby tent house. As it was night, the tent house workers asked the goons to return the tent, which they refused. When the workers repeated their request, the gang grew furious and started chasing the workers to the main road. The goons caught the workers and attacked them.

The entire episode was captured in CCTVs near the premises. The injured approached SR Nagar police station and the officials registered a case. The victims were later sent for treatment.

However, the scenario changed on Sunday morning, as the accused started pressurising the victims to withdraw the case. While police remained silent, saying that “investigation is under process”, the goons told that a minister had ordered to settle the issue and withdraw the case.
